Adam Idah News

The Parkhead side are said to have made an 'approach' over permanent deal for last season's loan star.

The striker joined on loan in January and there was initially some skepticism around the signing but he impressed and was a key part of the run-in. He scored nine goals in 19 appearances, including a priceless winner to seal the Double against Rangers in the Scottish Cup Final, and there has been clamour for a permanent move.

There was no firm agreement with Norwich over a fee in the initial loan agreement but Record Sport previously reported it would take around £6m to bring him back. Now, Sky Sports are reporting Celtic have "approached" Norwich about signing him permanently and talks are expected to get going. New Norwich boss Johannes Hoff Thorup wanted a look at Idah in pre-season before deciding but it seems the Hoops are pressing to make it happen.

Brendan Rodgers had made it clear he wanted Idah back and he said after the Scottish Cup final: "He's been the real catalyst for us. I knew what I was getting, he's fast and dynamic and has strength. What he's shown since coming in is he is a goalscorer. Great headers, great movement in the box."
