She is also proposing additional federal spending on Pell Grants to help low-income students meet other non-tuition costs; additional aid for black colleges; and more money for states that increase enrollment and graduation rates for people of color.

I go along with forgiving the student debt IF those of us who paid to put our kids through college will get a tax credit for the money we saved and spent.
In her policy the debt relief is taxable income or so I heard? Also heard the tax to pay for it isn’t easily quantified and collectible.
Why is no one talking about how her plan doesn’t even cut student loan debt numbers in half and does nothing to address interest? Disadvantages people who are married or who might make more because they live in large cities? But have larger cost of living expenses

When you went to college you made the decision to take loans to pay for it. Nobody force you to go to college. Now you must pay for your choice. If we forgive student loans then why not mortgages and taxes too.

That will teach kids about the value of money, right! NOT Strap the student loan debt to their Social Insurance Numbers, until they pay back every dime they contractually agreed to pay back.

The banks & for profit colleges make a ton of money on student loans backed by the US Treasury. I don't see that ever passing. Education is a business in this country.
